Beautiful Lakes

The Okanagan Valley is dotted with amazing lakes but Vernon is surrounded by four of them, to be exact: Okanagan Lake, Kalamalka Lake, Swan Lake, and Wood Lake. All are swimmable. Okanagan and Kalamalka Lakes are the most popular with families and offer all the onsite amenities you would expect, like picnic areas, sandy beaches, watersports, and public facilities. Swan Lake is a quieter, shallow lake perfect for bird watchers and hikers. Wood Lake is the warmest of the four, with sandy beaches and two marinas.

The Okanagan Rail Trail is a 50-kilometer stretch of stunning, even-terrain, shared walking and cycling path that starts at the north end of Kalamalka Lake and ends at the center of Okanagan Lake in downtown Kelowna. grab a rental bike and take in some seriously spectacular views while working up a bit of a sweat!
